Use of snow roof rakes

Snow removal from your roof is not the same as snow removal from your garden. When there is a chance of snow, roofs slant and this is one of the main reasons homeowners are unable to use power tools. Either he has to use hand tools or he has to call in a roof raking expert. Fortunately, gravity works for the homeowner and if the snowfall is not continuous and long-lasting, nature itself would melt the snow and a little effort on the part of the homeowner will ensure that no ice builds up on the roof.

Roof rakes are made of aluminum or hard plastic

Aluminum ladders and roof rakes are required for roof raking. The roof rakes are attached to the end of a tube. They are made of aluminum or hard plastic. Aluminum is preferred over plastic as they are not as strong as aluminum ones. An aluminum ladder is necessary as the roof is slippery, sloped and therefore not safe to access. Whatever parts can be reached with the help of tube extensions, they are cleaned of accumulated snow, and the other parts are left in their state. Chemical deicers can be used, if they are commercially available.

Luggage Rack Security

Do not do the following when removing snow from the roof

1. Never, ever, go up on the roof to clear snow. All the ingredients for an accident are present on the roof. A slippery surface and a slope are enough to throw you down.

2. Do not work in the snow with mechanical means, that is, do not hit or cut

3. The aluminum ladder must have a firm base and must be firmly anchored. It must not be knocked down.

Roof Rack Alternatives

To reduce the manual effort required to rake the roof and remove snow from the roof, a roof de-icer cable and roof gutters can be installed. It should be installed on the roof in a zigzag pattern and parallel to the gutter. A controller located in your home will ensure that the temperature of the area below the cable does not get hot.
