Yes, it’s early days, but there are a couple of sleeper teams you should keep in mind when making your picks. There are a couple of teams that look stronger than ever. For example, the San Francisco 49ers seem like the team to beat. On top of that are the consistent teams that you know will thrive, like the Ravens, Giants, Texans and many more.
There are some teams that can quietly rank up and surprise everyone. One team that seems to have the potential to compete with the best is the San Diego Chargers. I still think Phillip Rivers is an elite quarterback who can take this team a long way. Antonio Gates remains a dominant tight end, and the Chargers are a well-coached team. They can hang out with the best in the league, and aside from the Peyton Manning-led Denver Broncos, the AFC West division looks pretty weak.
Another team to watch out for is the Buffalo Bills. They’ve been shaky so far, but this team has some serious talent that can take them quite far. Ryan Fitzpatrick is a quarterback who has shown streaks of greatness, and the addition of Mario Williams on defense scares the hell out of them. The combination of second-year defensive tackle Marcell Dareus and Mario Williams makes the defensive line a force for opposing teams. They’re also a pretty well-balanced offense, so don’t be surprised if the Buffalo Bills surprise some of the dominant teams from time to time and find themselves in the playoffs.
One last team to watch out for is the Carolina Panthers. Cam Newton is a star in this league and he will take them far. His defense has also improved and they look very complete. This team has a dynamic offense thanks to Newton and they will be with the best of them. His defense is also highly underrated, so he’ll keep an eye on this team as a whole.
It’s early in the season, so it’s hard to determine who will thrive. But these teams have the tools and the talent to go far. The NFL is always unpredictable, so who knows which team will end up on top. But if you’re looking to make some great sports picks, consider these teams.
