Why HR was the perfect way to jumpstart my career

General description

The human resources department provided the best life experiences. It is a perfect way to start the race. Not only did it open up a path full of opportunities, but it also helped me expand my skill set and be an asset to the company. The experience in the Human Resources department paved the way for me in other fields that I exploited later in my life.

I didn’t want to start my life at a low point. I dreamed big and always aspired for success. I explored different career options. I didn’t realize that my first step would be in a totally different field. Without thinking twice I changed route. But I was surprised by the wide variety of opportunities that the new path offered. I started with a small role, and as the company evolved, the role became bigger than before. While tackling a myriad of issues, I stumbled upon something quite unique. I forged a solution that was later adopted by the entire company. People saw my specialized skill set and a door full of opportunities opened up.

trends

Nowadays, people are very career conscious. The literacy rate has increased. As a result, people are looking to get off to a great start in their career. For this, they take higher education, specialized courses. But it’s not like the jobs you take after college have to be related to your academic studies.

The haunting and adventurous beginning

I was a journalism student. While I was in college, I realized that in order to be successful in this field, I had to start from scratch. This meant that I had to move to a small town, work for a low salary and slowly work my way up the ladder of excellence.

I did my internship at Red Frog. Over the next two years, I was fully immersed in the job and began to accumulate experience in running events, organizing, and various other fields. At the end of the internship, the company hired around 50 to 150 interns. They had a vacuum in their HR department. I opted for that position and from that day on the future took a different shape than expected. I started looking at the internship program, thus taking on a mentor/manager role. Slowly and gradually the company began to grow and we reached a point where we could focus primarily on permanent employees. I started applying my experience to full-time employees, thus taking the lead role in the HR department.

The journey in the HR department was full of learning opportunities. One of the most important things I have come to learn from my extensive career as an operator in the HR Advisory Services department is to take initiative. One should not be afraid of new opportunities and always be ready to take advantage of them. I learned from my boss that it’s okay to make mistakes. I continued to develop myself in my field by taking advantage of the opportunities that were presented to me. The days gradually passed and opportunities began to present themselves in front of me. A path that I initially assumed would be a dead end for my career, would give life a different meaning and would be full of surprises.

As the days passed, I had to take on a bigger role for the company. It involved identifying the problems, accessing them and giving possible solutions. There was a bit of mismanagement at the company and I realized that recruiting and finance should exist in one system. I decided to do it myself. I soon achieved this destination. The company began to adopt this in all its branches. I was making the job easier. Slowly and gradually I carved my name into the company member. The colleagues, as well as my boss, were very happy with the work. As the days passed, people from all the branches and departments of the company began to come and consult me about various problems related to the software. After that, I became the go-to person for all kinds of IT issues in the company. I really enjoyed my job. The project I developed increased my workload but did not take away my dedication or determination.

Experience and future scope

I was around 8 years into the Red Frog career. My mindset about the HR department completely changed. I fell in love with the immense amount of opportunities it provided. I liked being engrossed in a company problem-solving situation.

The human resources department provided the best life experiences. It is a perfect way to start the race. Not only did it open up a path full of opportunities, but it also helped me expand my skill set and be an asset to the company. The experience in the Human Resources department paved the way for me in other fields that I exploited later in my life.

But later in my career I realized an amazing fact. I realized that he had been working as a sales consultant for my entire career without realizing it. I started looking for a sales position in the human resources department. Luck struck early and I got a perfect job. I had confidence in myself. I knew that my previous experiences would make me perfect for the job. This was just the beginning of an unknown field. As stated, I excelled. I started looking for more sales-focused jobs. Vast experience in the HR department did not make me an excellent salesperson. However, this field gave me the empathy to understand and relate to different situations effectively.

As someone with experience, I would like to say that one should be devoid of fear and ready to take the road less traveled. One will be surprised at the opportunities that a bold bathroom tends to offer.
