The Western Cape Province is a Meeting Point in South Africa

Welcome to South Africa.

The Western Cape is one of South Africa’s top tourist attractions, and for good reason. It is home to the famous Table Mountain, vast wine lands, magnificent beaches, world-class restaurants and cosmopolitan entertainment venues. The Cape boasts exquisite scenery and endless cultures and tourist treasures just waiting to be discovered, so set off for the most beautiful Cape.

Located at the southwestern tip of Africa, the Western Cape is the meeting point of the cold Atlantic and the warm Indian Ocean. Its capital city, Cape Town, is dominated by the flat top of Table Mountain. The province has the fifth largest population in South Africa, with a population of around 4.5 million. The history of the Republic of South Africa began in the Western Cape, some 350 years ago, when it was inhabited by the Khoi, San and other Bantu-speaking groups. At the end of the 15th century, European seafarers arrived here in search of an intermediate stop on trade routes to the east, and thus forever changed the face of South African history.

The Western Cape’s climate is one of hot summers and mild, green winters, a perfect climate for the production of fruit, grains, and most importantly, wine.

Thanks to its scenic beauty and many attractions, tourism is a major and growing force in the Western Cape, hosting over 50% of the country’s international visitors.
