MySpace Vs Facebook – Who Wins The Battle Of The Social Media Titans?

Virtually all active social media users have profiles on Facebook and MySpace. They are probably the two most popular social sites, so it’s no surprise. Although users tend to register with each of them, inevitably one site is visited more frequently than the other. This article will reveal why.

Both sites have evolved in such a way that they tend to attract different demographics. Facebook was originally almost exclusively for college students, while MySpace catered to younger high school students. Because MySpace appeals to the creative community, MySpace profiles can be modified in many creative ways. Each profile can reflect the personality of the individual member. Not so with Facebook, where all profile pages tend to look alike.

Joining groups is quite popular on both sites. The groups interface on MySpace is very easy to understand and evaluate. A page reveals which groups are in different categories and which members are active. From my experience, people seem to prefer the MySpace groups program over Facebook.

Spam is a much bigger problem on MySpace than it is on Facebook. For some reason, hackers can more easily hack profiles with viruses on MySpace. MySpace users will check the messages on their profiles, only to find spammy ads on all the adult sites. Gross!

Networking for business purposes should be handled properly on both Facebook and MySpace.
