Mount Abu – India’s Most Visited Winter Destination

Mount Abu is the only hill station in Rajasthan. It is located 475 km from Jaipur at the peak of the Aravali mountain range and is known for its Dilwara Jain temples. With flowering shrubs and coniferous trees, the climate here is mostly cool. There are almost 37 tourist places that are usually explored by tourists. 1. Dilwara Temple

This is a group of five temples. These temples were built between the 11th and 13th centuries. They are built with marble and are located at a distance of two and a half kilometers from Mount Abu. This scared pilgrimage site is dedicated to Jain Tirthankaras.

The temples are named Luna Vasahi, Vimal Vasahi, Khartar Vasahi, Pithalhar, and Mahavir Swami.

2. Lake Nakki

This lake is perfect to visit in winter, as it will provide you with a calm and cool environment. It is considered an ideal location as it is set against the backdrop of Aravali Mountains. One of the attractions is that it is the only artificial lake in India and is located at an altitude of 1,200 meters. According to the historian, this lake was carved out of rocks.

3. Guru Shikhar

This is the highest peak of the mountain at around 1,722 m above sea level. Tourist can get the aerial view and enjoy hiking here. An ancient Guru Dattatreya Temple also stands on top that has an idol of Guru Dattatreya, who was an incarnation of Lord Shiva, Brahma, and Vishnu.

A giant bell hangs at the entrance of the temple. Some of the other temples found in the Mountain peak They are the Shiva temple, the Chamundi temple and the Mira temple. The peak of the mountain is located at a distance of 15 km. If you are interested in the lab, you can even visit the Mount Abu Observatory operated by the Physical Research Laboratory.

4. Sunset Point

One of the most famous spots is Sunset Point. This is to the southwest of Lake Nakki. It has a dense forest as the Aravali mountain range lies behind it. The place is famous for the beautiful view of the mountain valley. One of the advantages of visiting this place in winter is that it has a very low temperature due to its location. Surely this advantage is only for people who love winters. This is the must see place for honeymoon travelers as the honeymoon point is very close to it. Sunset Point is also known for its souvenir shops and food stalls.
