Medical Schools in the US

Today, looking at students who have applied to medical school, the admissions board will consider a number of different factors.

1. They will be evaluating the grades you got while you were in college.

2. They will see what extracurricular activities you have participated in and any volunteer work you have been involved in.

3. They will look at you as a person and what kind of character you are.

4. They will also review the results of the MCAT that a student must take and pass if they want to attend any medical school in the US or Canada today. These tests seek to see what basic science knowledge a person has. They also tell them what skills you have in relation to reading and writing and if you have the skills to solve problems.

With over 125 medical schools in the US today, finding the right one for you can be very difficult. Therefore, there are a number of questions to ask yourself before making your final decisions. All of which is extremely important as it is vital to remember that you have to spend 4 years in college before going on to your residency training.

2. What field of medicine are you particularly interested in? Would you prefer to participate in research or clinical practice? Therefore, it is best that you choose a school that is best suited to help you achieve your goals in relation to your career choice.

3. What kind of financial resources do I need or have available in order to attend medical school? Also, what kind of costs can I expect to have to cover while I’m in medical school?
