Mattress Retail & Sleep Store

Now that you’ve decided to buy a mattress, the big decision is whether to save money at the outlet store or get professional service at the retail store. The decision to buy a mattress is difficult. Everyone has been bitten by the wrong decision to buy a mattress at least once. No longer sleepy, the last thing you want to buy is a recipe for more of the same. Your quality of life is at stake, and possibly your life itself; as more and more people admit to falling asleep on the road. Your daily mental state will depend on your decision.

The local mattress store has curbside signs at the corner that scream “Half Retail Prices,” “Same Day Delivery,” and “Well-known Brands.” Those are some attractive lures. Back pain, neck pain, and lack of rest during the last nights call for action. A consumer in pain is ready for a new set tonight. With big name brands at half off, the outlet store looks even better. Everyone knows that department stores and furniture stores will order it at the time of purchase. Delivery will take at least a week. The outlet store attracts customers, despite the nightmarish stories heard on television or in the newspapers. Those fears keep many people away, but every day these distributors appear alongside legitimate retailers. They parasitize the dominant giants who can advertise in the big media and who have a good reputation among the general public. They do this by planting their locations next to or across the street.

Every mattress manufacturer has a “bone pile” of dead mattresses that have been returned to them for warranty defects. They sell those pieces to anyone for pennies on the dollar. Where they end, nobody knows.

If you don’t want to end up with a used or defective mattress, keep an eye out for these red flags:

  • Mattresses stacked on top of each other – Excessive weight ruins a mattress.
  • Mattresses placed on the floor and not on the bed frames promote contamination.
  • Plastic bags that have been opened and resealed – Factories ship heat-sealed plastic bags.
  • Missing or Damaged Law Labels – means they have no warranties and are in use.
  • Young and poorly trained sales staff – Poor training leads to poor service.
  • Evasive Answers to Direct Questions: The truth is quick and straightforward.
  • A price that is too good to be true; it’s probably a mistake and not a good buy.

The decision to buy a mattress is difficult. Save money on an establishment or pay more for peace of mind and professional service? Be on the lookout for red flags wherever you shop to sleep. Your quality of life depends on your decision, and possibly your life! Everyone deserves a “good night’s rest”.
