fake toy watch

After my last article on a toy watch, I started thinking about the idea of having one. My previous article looked at what it really means to own and use one in terms of a statement and the nuances of wealth and status they give off. It’s true that I’m not the most traditionally fashionable type (but I know my fashion) and I generally don’t follow fashion trends like toy watch, but after researching them, I’ve actually liked them as a garment and fashion. accessory.

Anyway, I was flipping through a London newspaper on the way back from the daily commute and noticed, partly with surprise, partly with the knowledge that some of the UK’s leading retailers are stocking a fake-looking toy watch, and more specifically the Toy Watch Fluo going up against the major toy watch dealers!

The knowledge within me was the fact that I knew these watches are still a pretty high priced watch for your average Joe, with a limited amount of disposable income or even someone of the younger generation, who doesn’t have the money to pocket (!) to buy a shiny Toy Watch Fluo. As with most ‘in’ brands in the fashion world, there are always cheaper alternatives, Primark being a prime example; so I wasn’t surprised to hear of a cheaper version of these trendy watches!

The surprise in me was the fact that anyone would use a cheaper version of a cheaper version, if that makes sense! In my last article, I explained that Toy Watches are a fairly inexpensive version of a Rolex and a Swatch, using similar designs and mechanisms, but cutting corners in some areas to bring the price down. Now I know they are still priced at over £100, which is enough to make a cheaper version, but as a spiritualist and someone who is (supposedly!) against consumerism, buying a cheap version of these luxury watches is quite ridiculous: there is something wrong with our society if this is what we have come to! Plus, they’re only half the price, so why not pay a little more?

Toy Watch are so good because they are a well designed watch, but they are cheaper. Buying a cheap version of that defeats the point of having one in the first place.

However, this brings me nicely back to a few points I made in my last article: The beauty of the Toy Watch is that they are well made and durable, but the media and fashion industry have made them a status symbol of Fashion. so all that matters is how you look and how you see yourself as a person.

Personally, I think save a little more and get the real thing, because you’ll not only look like the paper, but you’ll feel it too.
