Electric Vehicles: The White Elephant That Belongs to the Zoo!

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT throw away your driving or motorcycle gloves for driving an electric vehicle.

Electric vehicles are simply a quick fix to the current system. Yes, that’s fine, we’ll all have to use less energy, which could possibly also include using less plastic garbage and being more rational with our daily use of our vehicle. But electric vehicles are no the answer! The development of electric vehicles is still in the laboratory and we need to find better ways to store and recharge electricity.

Most of the latest electric cars can reach about 85 miles per hour. But, for a range of only about 90 miles and an eight-hour recharge. One lap at the Isle of Man TT and an electric bike goes flat! How could you see that? How could he even justify putting on a pair of leather motorcycle gloves to do that? The sight of a racing bike leaning against a sweeper without the characteristic sound of internal combustion power accelerating is completely incomprehensible. Sacrilege even! No, only when something better is invented, is it time to develop serious motorcycles and cars.

Despite their ‘green’ image, electric vehicles are less efficient and more polluting than the gasoline ones they want to replace. They are not very ‘green’ at all. They are ‘white’ and they are elephants! The fashion for electric vehicles is nothing more than a fashion. Let’s be honest, the only race one electric bike will win is against another. How boring is that? Forget protective clothing and motorcycle gloves…it would be slower than watching lawnmower races or turtles! Why? Because batteries are heavy and inefficient.

Don’t be fooled into sitting in the ‘electric bike crowd’ and thinking that by doing so, you are doing what is ecologically, environmentally and ideologically best for society. The planet will continue to heat up! Despite what most people believe, a high percentage of the world’s electricity is produced using “dirty fuels” such as oil and coal. And this is NO it’s going to change anytime soon. In fact, the more electric vehicles are produced, the more the world will depend on “dirty fuels” to meet the growing demand for electricity. And another interesting fact for you to ponder is this. Even with silly government subsidies, electric vehicles are priced higher than their gasoline or diesel equivalents.

The electric ones as the first car or motorcycle are useless. Sure, you can switch to one, but as soon as you turn the weather down and turn on the car heater and your range is cut in half to about 30 miles, your chance of getting stuck on the freeway during rush hour doubles. The answer, change your gas equivalent and do everything else too, at any time, at any distance. Don’t spend all day going to work!

Put on your motorcycle gloves for a reason… common sense.
