A visit to the Oregon coast

The Oregon coast is a very nice place to see. We took our family to a place called Depoe Bay. We stayed at a Worldmark Wyndam resort. We were in a two bedroom suite that included three bathrooms and a kitchen. The facilities included game rooms, work centers, and three swimming pools, one of which was indoor / outdoor. Our three children loved this mini vacation (three days). The ocean view was breathtaking and only thirty feet from our ocean side suite.

The swell was very high with waves estimated to be around four and a half meters high entering. The complex is located at the base of a lava cliff about 15 meters high. We enjoyed swimming and hot tubs with the kids. We went to Gleneden and Fogarty Creek beaches to have fun on the sand, sunbathe, and ride the waves. Being by the sea is very refreshing. You can feel the air at sea level in your lungs as you walk and run. Air at sea level is the best air you can take in as oxygen levels are higher. The sound of the waves can be relaxing or cause anxiety. It depends on how big and strong the swell is and on each individual.

We drove to Tillamook Oregon to tour the Tillamook Air Museum. We also stopped at the Tillamook Cheese Factory for a self guided tour, great cheese tasting, and ice cream. Since we bought the Worldmark package, we have been to some great places. We have planned some additional vacations to Palm Springs and Hawaii.

The Oregon coast is very beautiful. We hit it in 2007 starting from Seattle and traveling on Highway 101 along the Oregon coast to California to visit the Redwood forest. There are many stops by the sea and great beaches like Canon Beach that we enjoy. We scoff at the tsunami warning signs along the way. Whether you travel to the Oregon Coast in summer or winter, what you see will not disappoint.
